Student engagement at Regent University

Student Engagement

Student Engagement’s main goal and purpose is to create student enhancement and campus engagement, whether you are an on-campus, online or commuter student.

We do this through orientation, programs, student organizations, leadership opportunities, and experiences that allow Regent students to apply what they learn in the classroom. Getting involved is a great way for students to meet new people, enhance their leadership skills, and be an active part of student life.

The Department Mission is: to assist Regent students to mature as Christians and to enhance the growth of student character, spirituality, personal well-being and leadership skills, while also assisting them to become Christian Leaders to Change the World.

Key functions of this office include:

  • Developing a vibrant community life among university students
  • Enriching student learning
  • Promoting character development

Student Engagement hosts orientation programs for freshmen as well as transfer and international students.

  • Freshmen: New traditional-aged freshmen (23 and younger) are required to participate in this mandatory August event. This 3-day event takes place directly after Move-In. You will get to know your Resident Assistants, Connect Group Leaders, and fellow classmates. During Orientation, you will also meet professors and learn about university resources, discuss Regent policies and procedures, and participate in a global service project.
  • Transfer Students: Do you already have some college experience? For transfer students (23 and younger) this orientation is focused on what you need to know to succeed at Regent. Meet other new transfer students, learn more about how Regent’s faculty and staff will support your success, and answer any lingering questions before classes begin.
  • International Students: As a new or transfer F‐1 international student, you will meet other international students as well as gain legal and general information during this orientation.
