What to Expect in an Online Classroom

You may be wondering, “What is an online classroom like?” or “Should I get an online degree?” Through Regent Online, you’ll receive instruction from the same prestigious professors who teach at our campus in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Additionally, you’ll be connected to an entire community of online learners pursuing degrees from a range of backgrounds, cultures and experiences.

Through Regent Online, you will have a set course list for each semester, class assignments and supportive professors—all with the flexibility you need.

Online students participate in each course with an average of 17 other classmates. A faculty member, skilled at catering to an online audience, oversees each course and guides you through the learning process.

Just like in a traditional classroom setting, you may have the opportunity to interact with fellow students via chat or listen to real-time lectures. However, you will primarily use asynchronous threaded discussions to exchange ideas with your classmates and collaborate on group projects.

Blackboard

Blackboard is a socially integrated, user-friendly platform that allows you to access your classes from anywhere. View all of your course materials and grades, participate in discussion forums and submit completed assignments, quizzes, and exams – all in one central location. Blackboard can also push information to your mobile device. If you have questions, professors are easily accessible by email, Blackboard, or phone.

Blackboard Collaborate

Blackboard Collaborate provides a real-time virtual classroom, as required by some courses. Simply log in at a predetermined time along with other students, and the professor gives a lecture, walks through PowerPoint presentations, and answers any questions.
