The Girl Scouts Visit Regent University and Earn Their College Knowledge Badge

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (Dec. 15, 2022) – Regent University recently hosted the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast to provide the knowledge necessary to earn the girls an Ambassador College Knowledge Badge. This partnership is a shared commitment with Regent to introduce young ladies to varied academic career paths, resources, and campus life in hopes of expanding their possibilities and preparing them for the future.

“Our Girl Scout Cookie Program gives many of these young ladies their first taste of business success, but we’re thrilled that Regent wanted to build on that by introducing them to a path forward through higher education,” said Jacqueline Brooks, Council Partnerships & Events Manager of the Girl Scouts of the Colonial Coast.

University educators and staff members took the troop on a guided tour of the campus; an experience that detailed the admissions process, provided a beginners look at financial planning, laid out a blueprint for good study and health habits, and offered a look at Regent University’s unique areas of study.

“It is our goal to inspire self-confidence in these young ladies that enables them to dare to pursue their professional dreams,” said Kaitlyn Irvine, Regent Manager for University Recruitment.  “We expect that this interactive experience will provide the motivation needed to see themselves as the decision-makers of tomorrow.”

At the end of the session, each girl scout was awarded an Ambassador College Knowledge Badge—one customized by Regent University to mark this rewarding occasion and to make sure these scouts stand out as Regent ready.

“I am excited, but nervous about what comes after high school,” said Katherine Jones, Girl Scout.  “Thanks to Regent, I don’t have to feel overwhelmed when I leave for college because now, I know what to expect. I feel ready.”
