Regent University Places Third at Enactus United States National Exposition

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (May 5, 2022) – Regent University’s Enactus team, World Cup Qualifier semifinalists, placed third in its track for their Healthy League project at the 2022 Enactus U.S. National Exposition held in New York last month. The award puts Regent’s team among the top 4% in the nation.

“Regent Enactus teams have created many great projects that have benefitted underprivileged communities, demonstrating the type of character and innovation we value at Regent,” said Dr. Joshua McMullen, College of Arts & Sciences dean. “I am pleased to share that our Enactus team has soared to a new height this academic year.”

“It is my pleasure and privilege to be one of the faculty advisors for Regent’s Enactus team,” said Olga Moseley, ABD, an instructor in the Department of Business, Leadership & Management for the College of Arts & Sciences. “I am so proud of the hard work, dedication and passion of our Enactus team. These students live out the university’s mission to be the Christian leaders who change the world—one project at a time.”

Nearly 320 Enactus chapters were welcomed to present their projects in one of two competition tracks: Early-Stage Competition (newly developed projects) and the World Cup Qualifier Competition (established legacy projects). Of the presented projects, only the top 12 are selected in each track for the semifinal round.

Regent’s Enactus team gained unprecedented success by qualifying for both tracks with their Healthy League and Veteran Launch Pad projects. While both projects advanced to the semifinals, the Healthy League project went even further to the next level, and the team was able to present its project live in New York, where it was awarded its third-place designation.

Regent’s Enactus Projects:

Healthy League for World Cup Qualifier Competition

  • The project utilizes animation, comics, and other forms of entertainment education to raise awareness about the dangers of hookworm infections and prevention through proper personal hygiene. The project materials are distributed to Haitian children, as they are the most vulnerable population suffering from hookworm infections.

Veteran Launch Pad for the Early-Stage Competition

  • The project aims to support the Hampton Roads veterans, the largest and fastest-growing veteran population in the U.S., by creating a one-stop platform that links veterans to various local organizations that help ex-military members transition to civilian life.

The Enactus team is now focusing on a new project based in Zambia. The team is partnering with MASY Ministries to create entrepreneurship training for Zambian followers of Christ.

In addition, Regent’s Enactus team is recruiting new members as six members are graduating on Saturday, leaving significant gaps in its membership and leadership roles. Regent students from all majors are welcome and encouraged to join. For more information, please contact Olga Moseley at obutenkomose@regent.edu.

Enactus is the world’s largest experiential learning platform dedicated to creating a better world while developing the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders and social innovators. The Enactus U.S. National Exposition enables teams to showcase the collective impact of their community outreach efforts. Students present their projects and are evaluated by business leaders serving as judges who rank them on how successful they were at using business concepts to improve the quality of life and standard of living for those in need. The winners of these national competitions are then invited to compete at the Enactus World Cup. Learn more at enactus.org.
