Michael Crews, Ph.D.*

Bio

Dr. Crews received his B.A. and M.A. from the University of Texas at El Paso.  He received his doctorate from Baylor University. He has been teaching at Regent University since the fall of 2014.

Crews’ research interests include Cormac McCarthy and American literature. His study of Cormac McCarthy’s literary influences, Books Are Made Out of Books, which made use of the author’s archived papers, has become a foundational scholarly work on McCarthy. It will be issued in an expanded second edition in the fall of 2024. He has also published book chapters and essays on McCarthy, including a chapter in Cormac McCarthy in Context, published by Cambridge University Press.

Born in Louisiana, Dr. Crews grew up in the west Texas town of El Paso. He spent most of his childhood and much of his adult life in the desert city. He lives in Portsmouth with his wife, Denise, and their two children.
